Cold Case Hammarskjöld + Q&A

Saturday 9 April 2pm

A provocative documentary exploring the assassination of a UN Secretary-General and the shocking revelations that followed

In 1961, United Nations Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld’s plane mysteriously crashed, killing Hammarskjöld and most of the crew. With the case still unsolved over 50 years later, journalist-filmmaker-provocateur Mads Brügger and private investigator Göran Björkdahl attempt to reveal the conspiracy behind the tragic death of this outspoken opponent of colonialism. In doing so, they discover a suspected crime of vastly greater significance for Africa – and indeed the world. This provocative, creative documentary premiered at Sundance in 2019, where it won the Directing Award for World Cinema Documentary.

Please note: viewers may find allegations in this film deeply upsetting; they will be discussed in the post-screening Q&A.
